Liver Flush

This Liver Flush Can Really Raise Your Vitality
to a Whole New Level

Dr James Chappell Most people’s livers are congested with fat causing sluggishness, fatigue, toxemia, and risk of illness. Sometimes, even in people without any major symptoms, over half of the liver can be dedicated to storing fat rather than to the hundreds of critical functions the liver is designed to perform.

That’s why this liver flush can produce a bigger improvement in your health than any other single program. You can give yourself a huge energy boost with it

The program has the added benefit of also clearing the gall bladder. You need plenty of bile from the gall bladder to stay healthy. Bile breaks down fats and lets you absorb fat-soluble vitamins and essential fatty acids and it works like a detergent to get rid of toxins and viruses.

The effects of bile deficiency come on slowly. They can take decades to manifest fully. They can look like indigestion or circulatory problems or other signs of declining health. These effects of bile deficiency are often treated as separate conditions or diseases, while their underlying cause goes unnoticed. That’s why clearing the gall bladder can deliver such a profound improvement in your wellbeing.

The liver flush works by building up bile and then releasing it in a surge through the gall bladder and liver. It’s done by refraining from eating fats so that a reservoir of bile is generated. Then each morning you consume some olive oil and cause the stored bile to be expelled from the liver and gall bladder, flushing and cleansing them and restoring them to health. You repeat this process for five days.

I have supervised thousands of these liver flushes. It is the single most important program I recommend to my patients, outside of my four-step natural cure plan . Once patients have made the switch to organic food and are drinking plenty of charged distilled water, and have switched from refined sugar to natural sweeteners, they are generally ready for the liver flush.

I recommend that people not use supplements during the flush. Since most supplements are processed by the liver, it helps to just give the liver a rest.

Exceptions include an intestinal stimulant (Aloe Max Lax from Nature’s Way) to keep things moving through the colon and digestive enzymes (from Wobenzyme) to facilitate digestion. I also recommend probiotics (such as PB8) as this is an ideal time to re-colonize the intestines with benefic flora. My own product does all of those things, and more. It's called Tri-Action Cleanse. I formulated it for my patients who needed an integrated detox kit to support their liver flush. You can read about it by clicking here.

As for medications, I suggest you talk to your doctor before doing the liver flush to see if there are any potential problems. For example, all of the garlic used in the program thins the blood. If you are taking blood thinning medication it could cause problems. My advice is that if you are on medication, keep using it while detoxifying. Always check your blood pressure (you can buy battery operated blood pressure cuffs at the pharmacy) since blood pressure tends to drop significantly during the flush.

The main components of the program are: a morning drink based on citrus juice, then, through the day, liver detox tea and fresh organic vegetable juices, plus a cup of potassium broth. These are supplemented with an intestinal stimulant, digestive enzymes, and a probiotic product. I’ve included a shopping list at the bottom of this page to help you get started. In all cases, organic products, fruits and vegetables are to be used.

The first thing to do in preparation for the liver flush is to make potassium broth and store it in the refrigerator. It will keep for 5 days, so you only need to make it once. Take the peelings (and only the peelings) of four large potatoes (that’s where the potassium comes from), 4 bulbs of garlic, 2 large onions, 3 large beets and their greens, some carrots, and 2 stalks of celery. Chop the vegetables and add them with the potato peelings to one and a half gallons of pure water in a stainless steel pan. If you have room in the pan, add more vegetables to enrich the broth. Bring to the boil, then cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Strain out the vegetables, and store the broth in the refrigerator once it is cooled. Stainless steel or glass containers are best.

It takes five days to complete the liver flush, and then two days to gently move back into your normal routine of eating and drinking.

Each day of the flush goes like this:

On rising: First thing, drink 8 oz of charged distilled water to flush your digestive tract.

After one hour: Slice one clove of garlic and 1 inch of fresh ginger root (cut across the grain) and put them into a blender with a couple of ounces of citrus juice - orange or grapefruit, in whatever combination you want. Blend until completely liquefied, and then add the juice of a lemon, plus enough citrus juice to bring the total drink up to 8 ounces. On the first day, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Drink the whole amount, and follow up, optionally, with a small citrus juice chaser to refresh the taste in your mouth.

Every day, increase the amount of olive oil by 1 tablespoon – so that by the fifth and last day of the flush, you add five tablespoons of olive oil to the morning drink.

After 15 minutes: Drink 2 cups of Liver Detox Tea. The tea helps with the flushing process and also helps minimize any discomfort. The key herb in the tea is dandelion root. It flushes fat deposits from the liver.

Through the day: Drink 2 or more cups each of the Liver Detox Tea and the Potassium Broth and as much fresh organic vegetable juice and charged distilled water as you want. The target for all the above liquids is 128 ounces or more per day. Take one digestive enzyme capsule three times a day, and before bed, with a full glass of water, take two each of the intestinal stimulant and the probiotic capsules.

Some people receive a valuable opportunity from the flush in the form of old emotions that surface from the past while they are detoxifying. These emotions can be highly toxic and it is as helpful to let them go as it is to expel other forms of poison from the body. A simple, effective way to do so is with the emotional freedom technique or EFT. It's easy to learn and do and you can apply it to most everything that upsets you, whether you're fasting or not. The EFT site provides a free manual that contains everything you need to get started. People often have astonishing results from EFT. Lifelong phobias and other emotional barriers to health and happiness can be released by it - quickly, without any fuss, and for free!

If you find yourself feeling washed out during the liver flush, a cup of green tea once or twice a day (but not in the evening) will give you a lift, and morning skin-brushing is invigorating and moves toxins out of your body.

If you are diabetic or hyperglycemic, the following adjustments are recommended. For your morning drink, use grapefruit and lemon juice, leave out the orange juice. It will be much tarter, and you may need to dilute it with water. For the fresh vegetable juice during the day, avoid beets and carrots. Taking Gymnema Sylvestre and/or GlucoDiaben along with vanadyl sulfate will help minimize the glycemic response.

For two days after the flush, your body will absorb whatever you put into it – so eat lightly and with care. Fresh fruit and vegetables, cottage cheese, soft-boiled eggs, cottage cheese, whole grain bread, and similar high quality foods are ideal at this time – always organic. Avoid anything heavy, processed, or oily!

After your liver flush, I predict that you will be delightfully surprised by the amount of energy you’ll have when you wake up in the morning and by the stamina that will sustain you throughout the day. The unexpected, spontaneous feelings of joy that accompany a thorough liver cleansing are the real payoffs for going through this easy, 5 day process.
