An Organic Juice Cocktail

to Detoxify the Body and Sharpen the Mind

Organic juices are a key part of my natural cure plan. In fact, the best investment you can make in your health is to buy a good juicer.

Most people — but not you, now — don’t know that organic vegetables yield juices that are rich in a wide variety of minerals, vitamins and living enzymes when properly juiced. Such juice is a super-food with valuable detoxifying and healing qualities. But, there are a few things to bear in mind in order to wrest the optimum benefits that qualify this as a super-food.

We begin with freshly picked and washed organic vegetables that are in season, including those that grow above the ground, such as squash and those that grow below, such as carrots. Green, leafy vegetables such as kale are desirable and should be included, as well. Only organic vegetables are used.

We are very choosy about which juicer. It must juice the vegetables at a low temperature; otherwise the living enzymes and vitamins will be destroyed and the healing properties of the warm juice will vanish. Nearly all popular brands actually heat up the juice as they separate it from the pulp. For that reason, we choose to spend a little more for a higher quality juicer.

We want a slow-speed, dual screw-expeller juicer that gently squeezes the juice out of the vegetable without raising the temperature of the juice. In this way we ensure that the concentrated vegetable nutrients, minerals, living enzymes and vitamins retain their full life-giving vitality. Green Star and Samsun Ultra are such juicers. I recommend them over all others. Their higher cost is easily offset by the nutrient-rich juices they can produce. A good juicer is the best health insurance you can buy for yourself and your family.

Most people don’t know they mustn’t drink vegetable juice like water. You have to chew it first before swallowing it, just the way you would if you were eating the vegetables. In this way the digestive process is initiated in the mouth by blending the juice with saliva and other gastric juices that aid digestion. This enables your body to absorb more of the nutrients in the juice.

There are specific vegetable juice recipes for specific health conditions and also for detoxifying specific organs. You’ll find them in my book. In the meantime, you can get started using organic carrots, beets, celery, apples, spinach, pimentos, and asparagus. Combine any three of them, including at least one from above ground and one from below ground. It's also best to combine vegetables with different colors in your organic juice.
